Affinity Manipulator – Manipulate raw affinity to attack single targets
Region: Southern Expanse
Rarity: Uncommon

Arcanists adjust the rules.
Divine casters call upon the rules.
Psionics release their will.
Shadowcasters pull on the rules.

Affinity Manipulators instead, directly, manipulate raw affinity. They do not call to the affinity gods, they do not draw on power, they do not manipulate anything. They are not involved with the rules at all. It’s not even magic.

What it is, however, is a trademark of the Southern Expanse. Raw manipulation of affinity, using secrets and capabilities above and beyond the rest of the world. These units attack with affinity at its base – striking foes by weaving affinity in unusual ways.

Overall, while channelers utilize the elements and status effects, Affinity Manipulators just do damage. They have a variety of ways to apply this damage – and thus have flexibility on applying their damage. They also are skilled healers – but beware about doing so too often, as that stat damage will add up quick.

Still, watch yourself – nifty as your manipulation abilities are, your actual spells are most likely stronger. Be sure you don’t neglect your class abilities!

Affinity Manipulators that aren’t from the Expanse are all but unheard of, and Channelers don’t seem fond of them. They are most typically in service to their Queen, but they do join schools – they’re just a bit too uncommon, even there, to be central.

They also tend to be quite prideful – and rightfully so, their skills are very unusual.
Hm.
